Brett Kissel shares an intimate post about his brand new highly anticipated album Now or Never
“I am at a loss for words. I can’t recall the last time, if ever, I’ve felt this level of gratitude in my career. Family moments and personal highs are a different category, but in the category of career highlights, this is so high up there! When I first started writing for this album I had a goal: “Write just to write.” This meant, “Don’t write for anyone else. Write just because you love it.” And so I did. My co-writers noticed something different about me because although I cared about commercial appeal, it wasn’t the focus. I just wanted to write because I wanted to write. And write I did. And now, the songs that I’ve written are featured on an album that is #1 right now in Canada, and the #2 Country Album in America. I grew up in Flat Lake, Alberta in a family of farmers and teachers and oilmen. We appreciated country music, but none of us would’ve ever believed that some farm kid from Flat Lake, would have a dream come true like this. As everyone is putting so much emphasis on the start of the new decade I can’t help but get caught up in it too and say how excited I am to be starting this new decade, this new era, and this new chapter in my career on such a high note. This is the most authentic I’ve ever been. The most genuine I’ve ever been. And the happiest I’ve ever been with my career and my music. I’m thankful to everyone who helped me along the way in the early years and especially grateful to everyone who helped me produce this album – Jacob Durrett and Bart McKay. We have debuted at #1 on an important chart, and to make things even more unique, the #2 all-genre album is FROZEN II <— which is our family’s second favorite album. Like, seriously! What is this life!! And it’s only DAY #1 of THE ROARING 20’s! Thank you to everyone who has made a difference in my life and has put positive vibes in the air for this new album. I love you all!” #NowOrNever
